Joseph Konty and his band of troubadours bring Joseph’s eclectic singer-songwriter sound to Old Market Pub in PDX. A blend of Soul, Troubadour, Americana, Folk and honky Tonk with dashes of rock-n-roll & funk. His concerts a blend of his own creations and songs that helped shape him by other artists. You’ll come to be entertained and left exhausted from dancing, stories and a level of music care. 

Joseph Konty is a singer-songwriter performing his troubadour sound. Raised in Colorado, Texas and Oregon he was shaped by the sounds of Soul, Blues, Gospel, Country, Funk, Folk, Rock N Roll… the Americana sound. He’s had a great career in Portland, OR dating back to 2002. He’s a music instructor for the non-profit Youth Music Project, is a music care specialist and music director for Gentog which focuses on neurodegenerative disorders care. He’s also a national cohort member of The Sounds of US representing PDX nationally bringing community together with activism work with music as the tool to achieve this. 

You’ll enjoy his stories, songs, music, kindness and wit. Come for a show, dance till you drop. Leave feeling cared for.

In 1998 Joseph started his music and art career in Eastern Oregon moving operations to Portland, OR in 2002. His father and mother personally managed their son. Since then he has an amassed body of work, studio albums, singles, live albums, tours, videos. While working with independent labels, managers, booking agencies and distribution companies throughout the U.S. and overseas. Alongside working with a milieu of faith places. His primary markets being Portland, OR & metro, The Pacific Northwest and Denver, CO.

After graduating college in 2005 with a B.S. double major in counseling and biblical studies with a minor in pastoral care and post graduate studies in 2009 in voice and music theory. Joseph expanded his career further with his Father and Mother. In 2012 after years working together Joseph's father passed away from a 4 year battle with systemic scleroderma.

In 2013 with his experience and training Joseph worked with charter schools and in 2015 opened his own art school to train, educate and produce music artists after the birth of his son Isley. His first artist he produced was Josephine Relli. He was a music director/worship pastor at a church in Sherwood, OR and since has been working on his own albums, singles, shows and educational work in music.

He works as music director with artists, students, the community and seniors with dementia, Alzheimer's and memory loss at a facility in Tigard, OR called GENTOG. He also teaches at Youth Music Project in West Linn, OR. A non-profit that makes music lessons accessible to all no matter their financial situation. He leads with GENTOG Community Services dementia friendly spiritual gatherings every Thursday of the month at GENTOG Community Services and serves as GCS chaplain and worship leader.

He has a certification in music care from The Room 217 Foundation out of Canada, has certifications in music theory through University of Edinburgh Scotland via Coursera, has a certification in chaplaincy from Life Pacific University and is a cohort member of The Sounds of US an music activist organization. He also has a certification with Opening Minds With Art organization focusing on art and dementia.
